Jordan Int’l Filmfest to display Iran movie ‘Maat’

Iranian director Saba Kazemi’s ‘Maat’ is scheduled to go on screen at Jordan International Film Festival.

Written by Saba Kazemi, the movie also had a special screening at São Paulo International Film Festival in Brazil in 2016 and won the Special Jury Prize of the Brazilian event, known as Special Award Abbas Kiarostami.

‘Maat’ narrates the story of Iranian families who face numerous economic problems after the US-led sanctions against Iran.

The movie is a doc-fiction about families from different towns deciding to migrate to the capital in the hope of solving their financial problems.

After a huge domestic success, the organizers decided to make the Jordan festival an international event.

The festival is to take place on January 29, 2017 in the city of Amman, Jordan.
